Added 1-2010 -- The state Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended the law license of Patrick M. Allienello, of North Providence, for allegedly misappropriating client funds. The court took the action based on disciplinary complaints it received from clients of Attorney Patrick Allienello. Allienello was accused of misappropriating money he received as settlement agent for real estate closings. He was supposed to use the funds to pay off prior mortgages of record for clients, but failed to do so and instead, according to Curtin, "converted those funds to his own use." As of this posting, no charges have been filed but the case has been forwarded to the Rhode Island State Police for criminal investigation.

It was reported on FraudTalk in 2012 that Patrick M. Allienello, 48, of Narragansett, Rhode Island has been charged with embezzling nearly half a million dollars from client funds for real estate closings he handled as an attorney. Allienello has been charged with unlawful appropriation and embezzlement. Allienello reportedly had his law license suspended in 2010 on ethics charges
